ESSAY: The use of technology


Technology relates to the invention of tools and techniques with a practical purpose. The start of the technology was when the prehistoric man discovered the fire, later invented the wheel, the writing, the telegraph, electronics, phone, computer, internet, among other. The technology helps us of different ways, because we can use it for study, works, for fun, to communicate and for other things. The advancement of technology has been very important in the area of health, with the incorporation of machines for the diagnosis and treatment.


In the university life the use of technology is very frequent, in all of subjects we have to do presentation, report and seek information, so with the use of internet we have a lot of possibilities and therefore the job is much easier. Another advantage is the use of internet as a means of communication between professors and classmates, this way of communication is quick and easy, and teacher use it to give information.
The technology in medicine is a great tool for everyone working in the area of health. This year we had the experience of learn the use of the technology in the area of Physical Therapy, in a subject that called “Basic therapeutic procedures”. In this subject, I had the opportunity to learn different techniques with tools and machines that it used for the treatment of various injuries. For example, when the patient have a big pain, muscle injury, fractures, broken skin, muscle tension, among other.
As to what my profession is concerned, the used of new technologies has improve the way we treat our patient and as we help them to recover to a nearly full movement status when it is possible or improve some the quality of life with this types of therapies.


In Physical Therapy, always we use many machine for recovery of patients, with the use of technology we can relieve the pain and recover the functionality in the injury. Thanks to technology, the physiotherapies can alleviate different symptoms that affect at patient, so the patient can return to all their daily activities.
Today, the human race has the ability to invent many tools that facilitate the daily life. The use of technology in the area of science is crucial, because the scientific knowledge advances very fast, so if we don’t use it we were back.

My travel experience


Hello everyone! Today I will talk about a travel experience. I think that my best travel experience was when I went camping with my family near Temuco.
First, we came to a place called "Conguillio", it is a beautiful place. The "Conguillio National Park" have many "Araucarias" (there is the largest "Araucaria", known as "Mother Araucaria", the lake's water is green and crystalline for the minerals and also adds the view of the volcano, which make this place all a paradise.
Also, the experience in camping is very fun because when we to go in a tent, we can move quickly from one place to another, and of this way meet many beautiful places.
Then of "Conguillio", we toured different places around, because our plan was to follow the "waterfalls" in the sector. Really, the places that I could find are spectaculars, I love the south of the country, when you go on the journey to south, immediately feel the difference with the city. I like the vegetation, lakes, climate, customs, food, everything is very nice.
The best of the travels is that when one returns, one is completely revitalized, for this reason, the travels are good for clearing the mind and recharge for whatever comes.
I love traveling with my family, we always have fun and until the moment we have many experiences and anecdotes that keep us very close.

The films of my life !


Hello! Today I’m going to talk about the films of my life. This is a very interesting topic for me, because I love the films.
Whenever I have free time, I’m adaptable to see a good movie. I think that I haven’t a specific king of movie that is my favorite, because it is quite variable, my love for a film depends more of the story, special effects, actors or the general assembly. However, I can assure that I’m not very fan of horror’s movies. I don’t like the idea of feeling fear and be suffering when I’m watching a movie, because I’m left with a strange feeling all day. So if anyone wants to see me suffer, I’m sure that with the worst scary movie is going to make.
For me is not so important where or with whom I see a movie. For example many times I’ve seen movies with my family and friends, but mostly I see one, I like to concentrate and not be interrupted.
The films that I’ve marked my life and I’ve left me fascinated, that remember now, are: “Seven pounds”, “The Pursuit of Happiness”, Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind” , “pride and prejudice”, “The big fish”, “The notebook” and Almodovar’ s films.
Many Chilean films I didn’t like, because I find that the language is very bad (speak with many swearword) and that almost all deal with the same. Two Chilean’s movies that I like it were “Machuca” and “La nana”, I liked the plot of the movies and the interpretation of the characters.

The myths of brain!


Then of the interesting presentation about the myths of the brain of Dr. Maldonado and look at material support, I will talk about two myths that caught my attention.
First: “Let’s face it – men and boys just have different brains from women and girls”Many times we wonder why men and women are so different? Why men don’t understand us, and they often don’t understand our way of being? But why we are so different and similar at once?
The male and female brains are functionally and morphologically different. For instance, the male brain is larger and when it comes to language are more strongly activated in females. In the paper is mentioned that the men tend to be more “methodical” and women better communicators, but I think that is in very general terms, at least I always considered myself more methodological and less communicative. Where differences can be shown to exist, they will be small and based on averages.
Second: “Learn while you sleep!”Another myth that caught my attention is “Learn while you sleep! ”, the methods that support this idea proposed that when the information is repeated while the person is sleeping through messages and texts continuously relayed, but even it say that it is more efficient that when done while awake. One suggested that the act of learning always begins with an unconscious process and so it is more efficiently done during sleep. But in summary, no study in learning while sleeping has been able to demonstrate evidence of learning. Consequently, it should conclude that many in the claims abut learning while sleeping are only myths. However recent studies have found that the sleep has different roles in the development of the brain and it is functioning; like that it is beneficial for strengthening skills such as motor learning (memorisation of specific sequences).

STRESS!!



Stress is a condition that implicated specialty the psychology and physical state of a person. Different factors may be responsible for this condition; this can be present in living or working life, as overwork, study, the routines, schedules, excessive travel, family problems, employment problems or a big problem(catastrophe) can be factors symptoms of stress begin to appear. The symptoms are varied, because as I said before the stress involved the physical, psychological and social state, so some of the symptoms may include irritability, hair falls, anxiety, tachycardia, fatigue, increased breathlessness, irregular sleep (insomnia) and irritable colon, among other.

When the stress conditions presented, the body reaction is immediate, but the symptoms can be increased, if the stress lasts for a longer time or other symptoms may appear bringing new complications. The consequences of stress depend of the person; some people have depression after stress and often they feel a big pain in different parts of the body, usually appears in the back and neck. These conditions make them unable to think clearly and are more intolerant.

Actually, is very common that the people have stress, especially people moving in downtown. If this problem continues, the rates of diseases and suicide increase significantly, making it vital to maintain a balance life.

Some solutions to this problem are to reduce the excesses in working hours, avoid being accelerated all the time, take breaks, good food, meet the hours of sleep, among other. The decision will depend of the factor that triggers stress.

A healthy lifestyle :o]


Often when we speak of a healthy lifestyle, immediately comes to mind “Healthy food”, a lot of fruits, vegetables, water, etc. It is true that a good diet is a key element in health, but a real healthy lifestyle needs to consider other variables, such as: aerobic activity, stress management, quality and quantity of sleep, suitable environment, among other. It is important to always consider psychological, physical and social factors.
The aerobic activity is very important, because have a lot of effects for the body, such as: increase resistance, weight lost, increase flexibility, decreases stress level, and in general improve the physical ability.
The stress management is fundamental, because can harm the physical condition and the relationship with the people.
The sleep is very necessary so that the body can regain the energy spent, if the quality and quantity of sleep decreased, the body begins to show different symptoms that hinder the healthy lifestyle.
Another important factor is the environment, the ideal would be in a place with low pollution, which has more vegetation and removed from within the city, as is often the bad environment is causing of different diseases.
To define a good lifestyle is important to consider all aspects. If the diet is bad, the physical training will not be as effective, because the body could have energetic disadvantage, or an excess of fat, which would limit a good activity. Moreover, when the people present a stress condition, usually have problems sleeping; therefore they can’t rest completely, this is causing fatigue and cumulative wear throughout the body.
My advice is to enjoy life, but healthy, this would avoid many problems.
